Terms of Service

These terms apply to the alert service provided by Trade Alerts Scotland (“we”, “us”) to maintenance firms and self-employed trades (“you”). By paying for the service or submitting your details, you agree to these terms.

1. The service We provide job and contract alerts matched to the trade, area, budget and preferences you give us. Alerts may come from public sources, including Public Contracts Scotland, and from local sources. Delivery is by WhatsApp, email, or both, as you choose.

We monitor and filter opportunities. We do not apply for work, submit bids, quote, introduce you to a buyer, or act as your agent.

2. No guarantee An alert is not an offer of work. We do not guarantee the number, quality, accuracy, availability, or outcome of any job or contract. Listings can change, close, or be wrong at source. You must check the original notice before acting on it.

3. Your details You must give accurate trade, area, budget and contact details, and keep them updated. Matching is only as good as the information you provide. You must be entitled to receive messages at the WhatsApp number or email address you submit, and you must not share your alerts as a competing service.

4. Price and payment The fee is £37 per month, including any applicable VAT if we are VAT registered, unless the payment page states otherwise. Payment is taken in advance by card through our payment provider. The subscription renews monthly until you cancel.

5. Cancellation You may cancel at any time before the next renewal date. Cancellation stops future charges. It does not refund the current month, except where the law requires it. We may cancel or refuse the service if you misuse it, if payment fails, or if we stop operating. If we cancel without cause mid-month, we will refund the unused portion of that month.

6. Acceptable use You must not resell the alerts, scrape the service, or use it to spam buyers or other trades. You are responsible for how you respond to a job.

7. Messages WhatsApp and email delivery depends on third-party networks. We are not responsible for delayed, blocked, or undelivered messages. You can opt out of WhatsApp or email by telling us or using the unsubscribe route. Marketing messages are separate from service alerts.

8. Data We use your details to provide alerts, take payment, and keep a record of what was sent. We do not sell your personal data. Our privacy notice explains what we hold and for how long. Business contact details are used under legitimate interest and, where required, your consent, in line with UK GDPR.

9. Liability Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for lost work, lost profit, a missed deadline, or a decision you make from an alert. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

10. Changes We may update the service or these terms. If a change is material, we will give notice by email before it applies. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.

11. Law These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have jurisdiction, without removing any right you have as a consumer.
